Class - An Introduction to Fairisle
Saturday, 30 June (five hours)
10am to 1pm and 2pm to 4pm
Fair Isle is a traditional, stranded, multi-coloured style of knitting. In this class you will learn how to select colours and make a front-buttoned vest in the round (adult or child size). The follow up class will cover steeking, the technique of cutting your knitting for facings and bands, and finishing your vest.
This class will cover basic colour theory, the principles of Fairisle design, swatching for stranded knitting in the round, and additional techniques for stranded knitting. An original pattern will be provided.
The cost of this class includes both morning and afternoon sessions and 7 balls of Rowan Felted Tweed in your choice of colours. Additional yarn can be purchased.
